WINONA LAKE – Classic Arts Programs will host the third annual Java, Jive & Pie event to raise funds for the Classic Arts Programs.
This event will be held at the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion, 119 E. Canal St., Warsaw, Feb. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m., according to a news release from the Classic Arts Programs.
This year the program will feature performances from the Classic Arts Programs’ Jazz Vocal Ensemble backed by a live instrumental jazz quartet. The Wally Brath and Friends quartet features Wally Brath on piano, Kevin Piekarski on bass, Jack Kinney on drums and Ben Essick on saxophone.
Dr. Ardis Faber, director of the Jazz Vocal Ensemble, anticipates this annual event and encourages the community to attend, stated the release.
“You won’t want to miss this evening filled with dance music, familiar ballads, up tempovocals from the swing era and the easy listening jazz from Wally Brath and Friends quartet!” Faber said. “What better way to relax than to enjoy an evening out with friends, while listening to some great jazz!”
In addition to live musical performances, attendees are encouraged to dress in style of the 40s and 50s. During the evening, patrons will be able to enjoy charcuterie, coffee, pie and a dance floor, according to the release. A silent auction will be conducted featuring items donated by community individuals and businesses. A few of the silent auction items include services from Tranquility Spa, a handcrafted quilt, last will testament from Taylor Law Office among many more. The evening will close with the annual pie auction, featuring Dan Bauer pies.
“This is our third annual Java, Jive & Pie fundraiser. We are growing it into a premier event.” Lori Widman, Classic Arts Program president, said. “This will be an evening of listening and dancing to live jazz music within the Warsaw city limits, all while supporting our artistic programs; you won’t want to miss this opportunity.”
Tickets are available for purchase at https://www.classicartsprograms.com/tickets and are $25 for an individual and $175 for a table of eight. Seating is limited and pre-purchased tickets are recommended. All proceeds benefit Classic Arts Programs’ mission to enhance cultural and spiritual life in the Warsaw area through their sponsorship of youth and adult vocal ensembles.
