Roger Lee Shenefield, 89, of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at his residence.
Roger was born on April 1, 1934, in North Manchester, to Burris Bernel and Lulu Grossnickle Shenefield. He married Dorothy Wagner on April 1, 1983, who proceeded him in passing on March 15, 2005.
He worked for the Parks Department for the city of Warsaw and retired. Roger enjoyed collecting belt buckles, knives and coins. He also enjoyed working on cars and hunting. He was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #49.
Roger will be lovingly remembered by his son, Douglas (Christine) Shenefield, of Warsaw; daughters: Pattie (Mike) Laney, of Florida; Sue (Russell) Woodcock, of Warsaw; Michelle (James) Rabiola, of Atlanta, Ga.; Cynthia (Oliver) Shenefield, of Good Hope, Ga.; and Diane (Mark) Bradford, of Good Hope, Ga.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by both parents; his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Jackie Gilfillian; one brother, one niece and two nephews.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Roger’s life will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Mark Fishburn officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family kindly request the memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
