Yevonne Shenefield

Yevonne Shenefield, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on Jan. 14, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.  
She was born on July 1, 1935, in Plymouth, to Perry and Mary Guard Brown. On April 11, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Louie Shenefield, who only recently preceded her in 2023.
She was a 1953 Pierceton High School graduate. She went to Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She and Louie moved to Syracuse in 1965, coming from Pierceton. She worked for numerous places as a secretary and bookkeeper before retiring from Farm Credit Services. She enjoyed gardening, canning and helping out on the family farm. She enjoyed preparing meals and baking treats to share with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Mike Shenefield, of Syracuse; her daughter, Leslie (Dennis) Darr, of Syracuse; five granddaughters: Katie (Jon) Lichlitner, Kelly (Scott) Kaiser, Sarah (Bill) Reynolds, Nicole (Jason) Weise and Holly Shenefield; one great-grandson, Carson Kaiser.
Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Eastlund Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery will be private.
