AKRON – Richard E. “Dick” Day, 94, Akron and Rochester, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at Life Care Center of Rochester.
Dick was born Feb. 7, 1929, to Joseph and Helen Miller Day. On Sept. 4, 1947, in Indianapolis, he married Julia “Judy” Ann Bidwell; she died March 14, 1996. He married Georgia Ann Delp on Sept. 28, 2002, at the Rochester City Golf Course; she died June 10, 2021.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Rev. Tara Hornbacker and Jim Saner officiating. Interment will take place in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, next to his wife Judy. Visitation hours will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Henry Twp. Fire Dept., Akron Cemetery Association and Akron Community Center.
