Philip “Phil” Lee White, of Warsaw, was surrounded by his loving family when he went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at the age of 70.
He was born on June 20, 1953, in Salem, Ill. Phil was one of four children born to Betty Lou Brasel and John Richard White. He was a 1971 graduate of Warsaw High School and a few years later he married his best friend and love, Hope Ann Banghart, on Aug. 17, 1974. They were blessed with raising two sons, who eventually made them proud grandparents. Hope and Phil celebrated many birthdays, holidays, graduations, weddings and their own 49 years of marriage together.
Phil worked for a number of years for Monteith Tire in Warsaw and later was a well-known face serving many Kosciusko County residents as the owner and manager of Culligan Water in Warsaw until his retirement in 2021. His father, John, was the previous owner and manager, and enjoyed keeping Culligan Water as a family business. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Philip will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
He leaves behind his wife, Hope White, Warsaw; two sons, Nathan “Nate” (Sheena) White, Eric White, both of Warsaw; and five grandchildren: Parker, Reid, Johanna, William and Elle. Also surviving is his mother, Betty Lou White, Warsaw; brother, Rick (Becky) White, Warsaw; and two sisters, LuAnn White Poling, Warsaw; and Laura (Eric) White Hayden, Cicero. He was preceded in death by his father, John Richard White, on Nov. 13, 2023.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
