STATEHOUSE – State Sen. Ryan Mishler (R-Mishawaka) welcomed Winona Lake residents and Eisenhower Elementary School students Allison and Benjamin Goebel to the Statehouse when they served as Senate pages in January.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator, according to a news release from Mishler’s office.
"The page program is a great opportunity for students to learn more about state government and meet their state senators," Mishler said. "It's always nice to see pages from my district and I enjoy answering any questions they have about our work here at the Statehouse."
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
