CLAYPOOL – The Claypool Town Council renewed the town's liability insurance with McGowan Insurance Group for $19,775 at Tuesday night's meeting.
This policy covers liability for the town, including the Claypool Police Department.
Council approved a two-year generator maintenance contract with M&D Electrical Solutions for $400 and a one-year on-call contract with Commonwealth Engineers not to exceed $10,000.
Chris Harrison, of Commonwealth Engineers, was present at the meeting to answer questions regarding the contract and to provide updates on the retention pond evaluation and grant funding opportunities ahead of the planned wastewater treatment improvements.
Town Marshal Paul Mullins received a Narcan grant and will soon attend related training.
New Council member Donald Miller asked if the council would consider adding a prayer to the start of each meeting, and if the separate voting districts within the town of Claypool could be dissolved in favor of one district at-large.
Town attorney Andrew Grossnickle will look into statutes related to these issues and report back at the March meeting.
The Council will next meet at 7 p.m. March 18.
