Charlotte L. Glassley, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at the age of 93.
She was born on June 17, 1930, to Clarence and Goldie Wertman Aiken. Charlotte graduated from North Side High School in Fort Wayne in 1948.
Charlotte dedicated 20 years of her life as a supervisor in the Serenade division of Maple Leaf Farms in Milford. After retiring, Charlotte enjoyed various hobbies including her love for animals, birdwatching and spending time at Lake Wawasee surrounded by family. She took pleasure in doing jigsaw puzzles with friends, reading books and watching movies and musicals with her grandchildren.
Charlotte's grandchildren have fond memories of her always having Oreo cookies within reach to bring a smile to their faces. She also generously shared treasured family recipes that will forever remain a taste of comfort and nostalgia.
She is remembered fondly by so many but particularly missed by her son, Sam (Pam) Glassley; daughters: Karen (Gus) Widmer, Linda White, Amy (Mike) Casati; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Mark Dunithan. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy; son-in-law, Al; parents; sisters: Clara Rose Aiken and Evelyn Seeger; and brothers: Albert, Nevin, Arthur and Donald Aiken.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Charlotte’s care. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 5 until 6 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the New Hope Pet Rescue, 72555 County Road 29, Syracuse, IN 46567.
