Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Lake City Lactation Wednesday.
Liliana Stamper, owner of Lake City Lactation, said she offers virtual and in-person services for moms who need help learning about breast feeding or feeding their baby in general. Lake City Lactation offers consultations to mothers right after they deliver up to when they go back to work. Stamper also provides prenatal education.
Stamper said she signed her LLC in November and started getting clients in January.
She was a labor and delivery nurse and became passionate about lactation after she had her own kids and had her own struggles with lactation. She was a lactation consultant for about six years in a hospital and got feedback from mothers saying they’d like to have help once they got home.
Moms would need a lactation consultant for an array of issues, including learning how to initially getting the child to breastfeed, soreness, latch difficulties and knowing how much milk the mothers will need to save for their child once they go back to work.
Stamper said the area she services is Warsaw and the surrounding areas. She is willing to go to any of the surrounding areas from Warsaw within about a 30-minute drive.
She hopes to empower women and to “let them know they can do this.”
