ETNA GREEN — The Etna Green Town Council heard a brief update about the Etna Green Museum and learned about the upcoming annual Easter egg hunt Tuesday.
Dick Long, Etna Green Museum's founder, thanked the council and community for their support over the years.
"I had agreed to nobody else but myself that I had $50,000 that I would put in (the museum)," said Long. "I'm 87 years old and I just put the last dollar in there for my $50,000."
Long said Tammy Berry will serve as the museum's president and Amy Ross is vice president.
"But I'll be around as long as I'm alive to help (Tammy)," said Long.
The museum is currently open from 1 to 3 p.m. every Saturday during the spring, summer and fall.
In other business, the council learned the Lions Club of Etna Green will host its annual Easter egg hunt at Heritage Park at 1 p.m. March 30.
Paula Walls also attended the meeting regarding a request to move power lines in the area of East Pleasant Street. She and her husband are purchasing two lots, which are to the northwest of Gulf Stream. Walls wanted to know Indiana Municipal Power Agency's timeline for coming to look at the property and move the lines.
Town Superintendent Bryan Long said he would contact IMPA about the property.
Council also learned Etna Township Fire Department's first fish fry of 2024 will be on May 3.
The council's next meeting is at 7 p.m. March 12 at Etna Green Town Hall.
