Stanley W. Miller, age 77, of Etna Green, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2024, at his residence.  
He was born on July 15, 1946, in Bremen, to Willard N. and Anna Chupp Miller. Stanley was a lifelong Nappanee area resident and on Sept. 16, 1970, he married Loretta Helmuth in Nappanee.
Stanley was an accomplished Standardbred Harness Racing Horse trainer. He was a longtime faithful member of Fairview Mennonite Church.
Stanley is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Loretta Miller, of Etna Green; three children: Kenneth (Brenda) Miller, of Bremen; Yolonda (Robert) Helmuth, of Nappanee; and Virgil (Diann) Miller, of Osceola; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five siblings: W. Devon (Barbara) Miller, of Bremen; Kenneth (Barbara) Miller, of Bremen; John Miller, of Inola, Okla.; Pauline (Keith) Borkholder, of Bremen; and Harlan (Ruth) Miller, of Nappanee. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Fairview Mennonite Church, 6981 W. CR 850N, Etna Green. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 at Mt. Tabor Church of God, 8424 CR 800W, Etna Green, with burial following in Fairview Mennonite Church Cemetery.
