Susan R. Croy

December 30, 2024 at 4:50 p.m.

Susan R. Croy, lifelong resident of Kosciusko County, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne at the age of 75.
Known to most as Sue, she was born on Aug. 25, 1949, in Warsaw to John and Edith Snelling Sechrist.
Sue graduated from Warsaw High School in 1967 and embarked on a fulfilling career, dedicating 15 years to working for Zimmer. It is there where she met her husband, Mike Croy. The two were married in 1985, sharing a wonderful 39 years together.
Sue’s personality was wonderfully unique — ornery and stubborn at times, yet full of life and laughter. She had the ability to make sure everyone was taken care of, embodying a generous spirit that knew no limits. Her family was undoubtedly her proudest accomplishment.
Sue found joy in her kitchen, where she delighted in cooking and baking, making beloved dishes such as biscuits and gravy and vegetable soup for her children. She was also very crafty, creating clothes and Halloween costumes for her children when they were growing up. Sue enjoyed camping with Mike and did enjoy her occasional rum and coke or amaretto stone sour.
She leaves behind her husband, Mike "Smokey" Croy; her children: Kelly (John) Culbertson, Abigail Pifer and John (Christa) Croy; and her grandchildren: Zakkary Pifer, Miguel Castro, Natasha Marshall, Tyler Neeley, Ashley Neeley, Keegan Linfesty and River Croy. Sue was also a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Frankie; brothers, Rick, Dave and Terry; mother-in-law, Loretta Croy; brothers-in-law, Tim and Dennis Croy as well as many extended family members and friends. Sue joins her family in eternal rest: her daughter, Angie Marshall; her parents; siblings: Ray, Inez and Niecey; as well as her father-in-law, John Croy; and brother-in-law, Rex Croy.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of Sue. Friend and family may gather there, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, on Friday, Jan. 3 from 3 until 5 p.m. At 5 p.m., Sue’s Life Celebration will begin with Pastor Dennis Croy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in honor of Sue may be given to the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
