December 30, 2024 at 4:48 p.m.

Nancy L. Craig, of Larwill, passed away peacefully at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw at the age of 89.
She was born on June 14, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo., to Grace Belle Thomas Stasinos and Claude Alexander Fridley. One day a young man by the name of Dock walked into her parent’s restaurant to apply for a job at the Log Cabin Restaurant. At that moment, Nancy had no idea that HE was her future husband. One never knows who you will meet on any given day, and that was a great day!
Dock and Nancy were married on Feb. 26, 1961. They shared the joy of becoming parents, and loved spoiling their granddaughter and great-granddaughters, all throughout the 60 years of marriage they shared together before he passed away on July 30, 2021.
Throughout her life, Nancy always took care of her family. Her favorite full-time job was simply being Mom, and she was a great homemaker. She even made time for her kids as a Girl Scout Leader for several years. She grew up working in her parents restaurant, and learned to care for her customers, and went on and worked at various factory jobs and later in life worked at Gateway in Michigan City. Nancy loved her role as a grandmother and simply adored her granddaughter, great-granddaughters. She also enjoyed her church family wherever they happened to be living; Wawasee Heights in Syracuse, First Baptist in Oswego, First Baptist in Monon, and most recently Bethel Baptist Church in Pierceton. Nancy will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many who will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Patricia Sluder, Niles, Mich.; Mary Grace Craig, Larwill; granddaughter, Amber Schroeder, New Buffalo, Mich.; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Nora Beck, New Buffalo, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Nancy’s life will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 at Bethel Baptist Church, 1109 W. Market St., Pierceton, and officiated by Pastor Luke Neer. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 3 to 5 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Humane Society of Whitley County, 951 S. Line Street, Columbia City, IN 46725.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
