Warsaw Racquet Club has new management and a new ownership team that hopes to draw people into the facility at 3919 Ind. 15 that may have never stepped into the club before in its 48 years of existence.
Their plan includes more offerings and hosting events in the realms of sports, recreation and community.
Thursday, the club hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce to announce the changes.
Thayne White, club manager, said, “We are excited for some of the changes that are coming to be offered to the community. Some big changes coming up.”
A few changes have been implemented already.
“We’ve massively expanded the hours, and it’s going to be year-round now, which is very different than what it has been for a few years, as well as there’s never been more offerings. We’re going to offer more than there ever has been for the community, whether that looks like events or whether that looks like club programming. So we’re excited,” he stated.
The club has specialized in tennis for a long time, and they’re going to continue to offer a lot of tennis. But along with tennis, and racquetball and wallyball, there will be more offerings in the near future for the community that the club owners thinks there’s a need for.
White said, “We’re just getting started, but there soon will be Futsal for youth, so indoor youth soccer will be coming soon. As well as hopefully some community events. We would like to land one big pickleball event - we will see, but we get a lot of requests for pickleball.”
One big pickleball event over a weekend during the time of the year when pickleball isn’t offered or available outside would fill a need in the community, he said.
A common comment White said he and his team hears from people is that they drive by Warsaw Racquet Club often, or have heard about it, but have never stepped inside the building.
“Myself and my team, we’re absolutely looking to change that. We’re excited about some of the things we’re going to do to change that, including an open house coming up,” he said.
The open house is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. White said it’s going to be a big event and open to the public.
“Absolutely not member exclusive. Open to the public. We want to see new and, by the way, returning faces because for some it’s been decades since they’ve been out and they love when they come in for the first time in such a long time,” he said.
Warsaw Racquet Club does have a membership component to it.
“There’s a model for recurring monthly memberships, or there is the option to just come in and get a day pass, or drop in for a single day, play tennis or play racquetball, go up in the sauna, that type of thing. So we do have saunas upstairs as well,” White said.
He reiterated that the club is a venue for the community.
“It is absolutely something that the community will come to benefit from because we will be implementing some of those changes and this will be known as a venue. We will host events. It is beautiful upstairs. We’re excited to be here,” White said.

A news release provided by White states, in part, “Our team believes deeply in this community, and we believe we will play a crucial role in filling some of the spaces that have been underserved in recent years. We see this club as an opportunity to foster community and growth amongst those of all ages and backgrounds. The community will soon know our club as a place for fantastic events. Whether those events are corporate, private or wide open for members and the public alike, we look forward to seeing many new and returning faces in our doors.”
