Burket Council Reapproves 2025 Budget

BURKET – Burket Town Council reapproved its 2025 budget Monday.
During the council’s meeting Thursday, Council President Bill Rayburn said the council was notified there were some errors when the budget had previously been submitted. The budget had to be resubmitted.
The budget totals $111,400.
The motor vehicle highway, opioid distribution unrestricted, local roads and bridges matching and cumulative capital development funds are zero dollars.
The rainy day fund is $2,000. The general fund is $35,800. The local roads and streets fund is $8,500. The motor vehicle highway fund is $49,000. The cumulative capital improvements fund is $500. The economic development income tax fund is $14,400. The local option income tax special distribution fund is $1,200.
Also, the council learned Santa Claus will visit Burket starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
