Bakehouse 23 is a downtown Warsaw bakery and café that makes everything from scratch in-house.
They also serve locally roasted coffee from Three Crowns.
Before a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, Kaley Dawson, owner, said, “We do some breakfasty stuff, and then we also do custom cakes, macaroons, cupcakes, things like that.”
She said she and her husband, Devin, chose the name Bakehouse 23 because bakehouse “was just a little bit different than just a traditional bakery name. And then the 23 is that my husband and I both were 23 when we opened and we also really like Psalms 23.”
Hours for the shop at 108 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, are currently 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, but they’re thinking of changing them in the next few weeks for 2025. They’re closed Sundays and Mondays.
“I had always loved to bake. I went to culinary school after high school and then I transferred to Grace for business,” she said.
The fact that they bake from scratch is not “super common,” she said. Most of Bakehouse 23’s fillings also are made in-house from scratch.
“All of our croissants, all of our breads, everything, we make it all here,” she stated.
Bakehouse 23 can be found on social media, including Facebook, for more information.
