James Allen Knepp

James Allen Knepp, 82, passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2024, at Signature Care in Bremen.
Jim was born on Christmas Day, 1941, to Noah and Doris Bates Knepp. He was a longtime resident of Bourbon, having moved there when he began high school. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1959 and from Rupert School of Auctioneering in 1971.
On Oct. 1, 1960, he married the love of his life, Sheron Lytle. They spent 64 years together raising their 7 children and enjoying their 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Jim worked as a farmer, auctioneer and truck driver. He attended The Country Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Clay Allen Knepp; brother, Kenneth Knepp; and son-in-law, John Moyer.
He is survived by his wife, Sheron; and his children: David (Lisa) Knepp, of Plymouth; Terri (John) Steele, of Mishawaka; Daniel Knepp, of Bourbon; Angela Moyer, of Goshen; Joy (Anthun) Barnes, of South Bend; and Andy (Shelly) Knepp, of Warsaw. He is also survived by his sisters, Lois (Ron) Ganshorn, of Nappanee; and Sharon Knepp, of Elkhart.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at The Country Church, 2951 9B Road, Bourbon, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. The burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Signature Care Center, 316 Woodies Lane, Bremen, IN 46506; or Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
