SILVER LAKE - On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department held its annual Christmas dinner and awards ceremony.
Jacob Baker received a five years of service award.
Joey McNeal received a 15 years of service award.
Mike Weller and Morris Jones received a chief’s award for their time and energy in getting the department’s new rescue ready for service. Weller also was selected Firefighter of the Year by the members of the department.
The Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department thanks the families of the firefighters for allowing them to come help those in the community who may be having a bad day.
