James Allen Rose, of Warsaw, “Rosie" or "Jim Bob” as many loved to call him, passed away after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He passed at home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at the age of 70.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he was born on June 20, 1954, in Warsaw, to Mara Louise Summy Rose and James Richard Rose. Jim was a 1972 graduate of Mentone High School in Mentone and a 1974 graduate of Vincennes University. He married Joyce Ann Hoskins on June 5, 1986, and were blessed to have celebrated 38 years of marriage together before Jim passed away. Jim was a long standing member of the IHSAA as a sports official. He also served many leagues and organizations. Jim has always lived by the mantra to do the right thing, and would always be friendly and talk to everyone he met. He was a loving father, Papa to his grandchildren and considered his wife his best friend. Jim was a hard worker for many years primarily at RR Donnelly, Safeway Door, and, later in life, for Warsaw Community High School.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce Ann Rose, Warsaw; two daughters, Bethany Brower, Warsaw; Nicole (Nathan) Borem-Schickel, Carmel; and two grandchildren, Nora and Nina Schickel, Carmel. He also leaves behind two brothers, Kevin (Lynne) Rose, Warsaw; Jeff (Nelta) Rose, Mentone; and his sister, Tamara Rose, Mentone. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Terry.
Jim’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Envoy Ken Locke of the Salvation Army. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
