ISP Traffic Stop In Kosciusko County Results In Cocaine Find

A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon by an Indiana State Police trooper on U.S. 30 led to the discovery of 3 kilos of suspected cocaine and the arrest of a Fort Wayne man.
According to a news release from the ISP, at approximately 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, the ISP trooper witnessed a moving violation on a black 2007 BMW SUV as it traveled east on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.
A traffic stop was made near the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 150W, Warsaw.
During the traffic stop, a K9 from the Warsaw Police Department responded to assist the trooper. A free-air sniff was conducted, the release states, and the K9 gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics in the BMW. A subsequent search of the BMW revealed 3 kilos of suspected cocaine and approximately $3,000 in U.S. currency.
The driver of the BMW was identified as Jarvis Buchanan, 44, Fort Wayne. He was arrested for possession of cocaine, a level 3 felony, and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.
Information on the booking sheet for Buchanan indicates he is being preliminarily charged with dealing cocaine or a narcotic drug, with a $25,250 bond; and speeding.
