Duane Earl Spangle, 87, Claypool, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born May 27, 1937, at home in Silver Lake, to Lena Pearl Gunter Spangle and Noble “Joe” Earl Spangle.
On Nov. 16, 1956, Duane married Rebecca “Becky” Manns; she died March 12, 2020.
Duane’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Gospel Hill Church, Silver Lake, officiated by Pastor Bobby Board and assisted by Pastor Justin Harshman. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 3 to 6 p.m. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to Gospel Hill Church, 303 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, IN 46982; or to Stillwater Hospice, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814.

Tiger Basketball Opens Season With Win Over Columbia City
On a night where the Warsaw football team was honored before the game, another Tiger team with high expectations going into the season made its 2024 debut. The Warsaw boys basketball team tipped the season off at the Tiger Den against Columbia City, and after battling for the better part of the game, the home side pulled away in the final minutes to win the opener 62-53.
