August 31, 2024 at 1:00 a.m.

AG Plus Inc., a full-service agribusiness cooperative specializing in agronomy, energy, feed, grain and turf, announced recently that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Custer Grain Co. Inc., a grain and fertilizer company. The acquisition does not include the Pioneer Seed Agency, as Custer Farm Supply will continue to manage.
AG Plus Inc. seeks to grow and diversify market options and its communities with the new investment, according to the release from Ag Plus.
Since March of 1912, AG Plus Inc. has been a locally owned and operated farmer cooperative and has grown into 1,200 members. AG Plus Inc. remains committed to serving its customers’ agricultural needs in 11 Indiana counties and three Ohio counties, the release states.
Custer Grain Co. Inc. is a family-owned grain and farm supply company founded 57 years ago, offering similar products and services to AG Plus Inc.
“This acquisition is a win for everyone. Both companies have similar products and services, which will enhance our offerings to the local farmers and AG Plus by expanding territories and new markets. We look forward to welcoming their current employees and customer relationships to our growing AG Plus family,” said AG Plus Inc. CEO Jeff Mize.
The effective date for the acquisition will be Oct. 1 with no changes to the name AG Plus Inc. The newly acquired company is located in Garrett.
All employees of both companies have been duly notified of the details. Both companies are committed to a smooth and positive integration for all employees and the communities they serve, the release concluded.
