Grace College To Host Renowned Pastor H.B. Charles Jr.

WINONA LAKE — Grace College will welcome H.B. Charles Jr., a renowned speaker, author, member of the Gospel Coalition and pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Church in Jacksonville, Fla., to its campus on Thursday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 6.
Charles will speak in chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Chapel is free and open to the public, according to a news release from Grace College.
“I am excited to welcome H.B. to Grace as we kick off our 2024-25 school year,” said Dr. Drew Flamm, president at Grace. “H.B.’s 30-plus years of ministry have clearly displayed his love for God’s Word and the Church. I know his presence at Grace will greatly impact our students.”
On Thursday at 2 p.m., Charles will also speak at Grace Theological Seminary’s event, “The Preacher’s Path: Tips for Sermon Preparation and Delivery,” at McClain Auditorium, 601 Connection Circle, Winona Lake. Sponsored by the seminary’s Center for Thriving Leaders, the event is free and open to the public.

Charles has served at Shiloh Metropolitan Church since fall 2008, where he is responsible for preaching, teaching, vision casting and leadership development. Prior to joining Shiloh Church, Charles led the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angeles for almost 18 years, where he succeeded his late father.
Charles regularly speaks at churches, conferences and conventions around the country. He also hosts The On Preaching Podcast and the “Cutting It Straight with H.B. Charles Jr.” radio show. Charles has authored or contributed to numerous books, including “It Happens After Prayer,” “On Preaching,” “On Pastoring,” “The Difference Jesus Makes” and “Power in the Pulpit.”
