Indiana American Water Company’s Warsaw district has issued a boil water advisory affecting approximately 1,100 customers in the city of Warsaw and near Winona Lake after a crews needed to make emergency repairs in its system, which is expected to be completed on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Some customers in the affected area were expected to be without water or experience low water pressure during this time, according to a news release Tuesday afternoon from Indiana American Water.
A boil water advisory will be in effect through tomorrow, which includes customers south of Patterson Road to where East Pierceton Road connects to South CR 350 East. This includes customers on the east bank of Winona Lake, to approximately South CR 325 East.
Boil water advisories are issued since pressure dropped below 20 pounds per square inch in the affected area. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) mandates precautionary boil advisories to ensure high-quality water in the event water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch (psi) in any part of a distribution system, the release states.
