“Our fate is in our hands - we have the power to turn our country away from the fear, division, and smallness of the past.” - Michelle Obama, 20 August 2024
When you vote, turn away from those:
• who continue to divide us with blame and hatred pitting one group against another
• who raise the specter of violence to settle political differences and seek vengeance for perceived wrongs
• who support a man proclaiming he will be a dictator on day one of his presidency and appears to be more comfortable with the world’s authoritarians than with the leaders of democratic allies
• who describe immigrants as vermin that are poisoning the blood of America
• who project a bloodbath should they be unsuccessful in the upcoming election
• who refuse to pass common sense laws to address gun violence that takes the lives of too many of our fellow countrymen
• who instigated the storming of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power
• who have installed election deniers in numerous state and local election boards across the United States potentially raising the specter of officials refusing to certify the results of a fair and open election
• who want a return to a non-existent mythical past by revoking long-held, hard-earned individual rights (voting, reproductive health care, freedom to love who you want)
• who are more interested in protecting the interests of the privileged few rather than making life better for the less fortunate
Cast your vote for a more hopeful future, a future where everyone has the opportunity to pursue the life they wish and their skills, determination, and hard work can take them.
