Dale A. Burbank, 77, Gas City, passed away at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, in his childhood home in Gas City.
He was born in Hancock, Mich., on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1946, to Reynold and Alice Ewen Burbank.
Dale graduated from Mississinewa High School class of 1964 and enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Superior Public Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and an Army Expert Marksman Badge. He then worked and retired from Zimmer. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish. Dale would want you to know, "This is the day the Lord has made rejoice and be glad. Thank you for family and friends." P.S. "Go Irish!"
Survivors include his siblings: Carol (Rick) Elliott, of Silver Lake; James Burbank, of Gas City; Brian (Pam) Burbank, of Gas City; Craig Burbank, of Gas City; Nadine (Beverly Atkins) Burbank, of Gas City; special friend, Ruth Wright; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Alice Burbank; brothers, Robert Burbank, Michael Burbank; and twin sister, Gail Lindley.
The family will hold a funeral mass on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 325 E. North A St., Gas City, with Father Hurley officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
