TVHS Counseling Department Earns Indiana's Carrying The Torch To Student Success Bronze Star Award

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley High School announced that its counseling department has successfully earned the Indiana Carrying the Torch to Student Success Bronze Star Award.
This recognition, granted by the Indiana Department of Education and the Indiana School Counselor Association, highlights the dedication and commitment of school counselors Lacey Wise and Katelyn Bradley, to providing an exemplary school counseling program, according to a news release from Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
The Comprehensive School Counseling portfolio developed by Valley’s Counseling Department reflects the school’s commitment to offering effective counseling services, both direct and indirect, to all students, the release states. This achievement signifies the intentional planning and continuous efforts made by Valley’s counseling team to improve student outcomes and support their success.
The Bronze Star designation indicates that TVHS has established strong foundational elements for a comprehensive counseling program, addressing the Indiana School Counseling Competencies for Students and the American School Counseling Association’s Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success. This award underscores the high level of professionalism exhibited by the school counselors in their advocacy for student success and well-being, the release states.
“We are extremely proud of our counseling department for earning this recognition,” said Brandon Kresca, TVHS principal. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our counselors in ensuring that every student receives the support and guidance they need to succeed. Their commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing environment for our students is truly commendable.”
The Indiana Bronze Star School Counseling Award will be officially presented to the counseling department at the annual Indiana School Counselor Association Conference on Nov. 14-15 in Indianapolis.
