August 19, 2024 at 5:22 p.m.

Glenn Cowan, known to many as "Clem," passed peacefully at his home in Fort Wayne on Aug. 17, 2024, at the age of 69.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1954, in Westerly, R.I., to Robert George Cowan Sr. and Shirley Seam Taylor. Clem grew up in the North East and was a graduate of Valley Regional High School in Connecticut.
Professionally, he dedicated many years to Explorer Van in Warsaw, where he worked both as a purchasing agent and dispatcher. His hard-working nature earned him the respect of his colleagues and had a lasting impact on the company.
More personally, he cherished Sunday morning calls with his mother (age 93) and treasured the time spent with his beloved wife, Barbara Bunn Cowan, to whom he was married on June 23, 1984. He also loved time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His unwavering pride in his family was evident to who knew him - he was proud of everyone!
In addition to his love for family, Clem had a passion for sports. He was an avid hockey fan cheering for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Fort Wayne Komets. His enthusiasm extended beyond hockey, as he also had a keen interest in moto track racing. He was known for his optimistic spirit, and his joy for life was infectious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include his mother, Shirley Taylor, of Warsaw; his wife of 40 years, Barb Cowan, of Fort Wayne; three daughters: Heather (Jeff) McGuire, Lana (Brent) Hisey and Stephanie Cowan, all of Warsaw; grandchildren: Hollie (Landon) Hawks, of Warsaw; Jodie (Aaron) Gingerich, of Leo; Allie (Austin) Fisher, of Plymouth; Ashton McGuire, of Indianapolis; and Delaney Hisey, of Warsaw; great-grandchildren: Beckham, Briar, Berkley, Everette, Coen, Declynn and Murphy; two brothers, Gary (Emily) Cowan, of Florida; and Bob (Linda) Cowan, of Vermont. He was preceded by his father, Robert “Red” Cowan; stepfather, George Taylor; and granddaughter, Evaney Hisey.
Clem's visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw on Aug. 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. A funeral will follow on Aug. 21 beginning at 11 a.m. at the same location.
Preferred Memorials to Riley Children’s Hospital www.rileychildrens.org/about/ways-to-give or an Animal Shelter of Donors choosing.
