Carol Ann Bartley, of Warsaw, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning Aug. 14, 2024, at the age of 59. She was battling cancer, and her family had anticipated spending more time with her.  Sadly, God had other plans for Carol, and she could not stay another day.  Her family has comfort in knowing her pain has come to an end and she will be dearly missed.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1964, in Columbia City, to Judith Kay Julian and Joel Rex Shumaker. She attended Whitko High School. Carol worked for many years as a machine operator for Jomac Products in Warsaw and had also worked at Explorer Van. Always a reliable hard-working lady, she could tackle any task asked of her.
Carol married her best friend and love of her life, Kevin Allen Bartley, in Claypool on Jan. 9, 1988. They shared everything during their 36 years of marriage together. She devoted herself to their home and enjoyed taking care of their property. She was always an early riser and made sure she and Kevin started the day with a good breakfast. Carol always kept busy taking care of the home-front, from cooking, sweeping and maintaining the house inside and out. The simple things in life brought her joy. Being outdoors, enjoying the weather, the beautiful flowers and of course her beloved dogs. More than anything she loved her husband, and spending time with her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin Bartley, Warsaw; mother, Judy Shumaker, Warsaw; brother, Rex (Tracey) Shumaker, Warsaw; three sisters: Shelly (Patrick) Gilley, Etna Green; Melissa Long, New Haven; Sherry (Steve) Eckert, Columbia City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joel Shumaker, in 2018.
Carol’s life will be celebrated privately by her family with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Carol’s memory may be directed to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 1048 S. 325 W., Pierceton, IN 46562.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
