Warsaw Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Someone During An Argument

A Warsaw woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing someone during an argument.
Genesis Teran, 22, of 314 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
She was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 2:23 p.m. Monday on a $10,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Monday, Warsaw Police Department officers responded to a fight in progress.
The officers located the victim, who suffered a laceration on their left forearm and the officers located blood droplets in the living room, hallway, kitchen and bedroom.
An officer spoke with a witness who said Teran and the victim were arguing in the bedroom and the witness and a second person entered the bedroom. The witness said Teran then picked up and stabbed the victim. The second person confirmed the witness’ story, but the second person did not witness Teras stab the victim. The witness said there were four minors in the residence at the time of the incident.
An officer spoke with Teran who said she argued with the victim in the bedroom. They struggled with each other at the same time and Teran cut the victim with a small knife from her bedroom. Teran said the witness and second person broke up the altercation and Teran fled the residence through the bedroom window.
An officer spoke with the victim who said they were prepared to leave for work, argued with Teran and Teran struck them on the head and bit them three times. The victim tried to prevent Teran from battering them and Teran cut them with a knife.
An officer saw a scratch and discoloration on the victim’s head, as well as three bite marks and a laceration on the victim’s arm.
