WINONA LAKE – Ready to collect your own seeds for gardening?
The Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams invites you for Part IV of the Growing Together workshop series: How to Save Seeds on Sept. 7 from 10-11:30 a.m. Join The Lilly Center in creating sustainable living while sharing nature’s beauty with one another.
Learn from speaker Jacob Macke and workshop partner Emily Kresca from Purdue Extension. Macke is the owner of Chapman Lake Nursery, and he collected a majority of the seeds he planted this year. He will teach attendees how to collect seeds for the next growing season and how to winterize seeds and prepare for spring planting!
This workshop is hands-on and participants will get to collect their own seeds from the Lilly Center's native landscaping.
Brunch is provided, as well as handouts and information on where the native plants grow well and the benefits they have for your garden.
