Tornado Sirens To Be Tested

August 14, 2024 at 8:08 p.m.

Kosciusko County will be reprogramming and testing several tornado sirens next week.
This project will only be for those sirens set off from the 911 Dispatch Center.
The plan is to start south and central on Monday with the communities of Silver Lake, Claypool, Pierceton and some of Warsaw, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency.
Tuesday will be central and north, with the remainder of Warsaw, plus Atwood, Clunette, Leesburg and Milford.
Syracuse sirens are scheduled for Wednesday, along with any sirens that require additional testing.
Additional days may be required and this schedule may be modified, as necessary, depending on weather and any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. At each siren, the communications company will be running short tests to validate that they will activate remotely.
