Larry L. Harman, 76, Elkhart, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Warsaw, to Richard and Lorene Grimm Harman.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Manuel; daughters, Melinda (Kevin) Olson, Greenwood; and Angeline Beres, Elkhart; five grandchildren: Amber (Sean) Brackin, Brooke (Mike) Olson, Brennan Beres, Marissa Olson and Makenna Beres; a great-grandchild, Skyy Brackin; and siblings, Gail (Denise) Harman, Nappanee; and Sonya (Rich) Nash, Granger.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Harman.
A graduate of Nappanee High School, Larry went on to earn an associates degree at Sams Technical Institute, Indianapolis.
He worked as a tour bus driver for Cardinal Buses. He later was a local delivery driver for Yellow Dog and Patrick Metals.
Larry loved entertaining people and making them laugh. He enjoyed an especially close relationship with his aunt Chearyl Miller and her husband, Max.
He enjoyed road trips with family, and had a special connection with Cloud, the cat, who he insisted he didn’t like, but frequently shared his food with.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Goshen Christian Church, 2133 Berkey Ave., Goshen, where a 4 p.m. funeral will take place. Pastor Nate Walter will officiate.
According to his wishes, Larry’s body will be cremated after the service. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held Saturday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. at Goshen Christian Church.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
