Alice Says Thank You

Editor, Times-Union:
I have many people to say “THANK YOU” as the last three months has been very special for me. I have been a member of the Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers for 44 years. During the annual Spring Fling in May I was surprised to receive the Life Achievement Award from the Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers. “Thank You” Extension Homemakers!
As president of the Mentone Alumni I need to say “THANK YOU” to everyone who helped make the open house at the Mentone School gym on June 1st a huge success. The Alumni committee who helped plan it, the sponsors who supported it, the Classes who shared their memories and the 170 people who attended it. It was a great day, many school memories were shared and many new memories were made!
The last of June as I was preparing for the Open Class Exhibits at the Kosciusko County Fair I received a message from my granddaughter Janelle, which was my picture on the front page of the Times Union Newspaper stating I was named Grand Marshal of the 2024 Kosciusko County Fair Parade to be held on July 7th. It seems my family knew about this and kept it a secret from me. “THANK YOU” to the Fair Board for honoring me with title. The parade is something I’ll never forget! I need to say “THANK YOU” everyone who took the time congratulated me and a special “THANK YOU” goes to Dean Rhoades for letting us use his 1968 Chevy Impala convertible for the parade!
