Vote Birch For Judge

Editor, Times-Union:
I am writing regarding Jack Birch’s qualifications for Kosciusko Circuit Court judge.
I have practiced law in Noble and Kosciusko County for the past forty years, as a defense attorney for seven of those years and as a part-time deputy prosecutor for over thirty. I have also maintained a civil practice throughout those years. Over the last 30 years, I have had the opportunity to litigate numerous criminal cases against him as a deputy prosecutor and also currently as a defense colleague here in Kosciusko County. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with and against him on civil matters, including municipal law, property disputes, school law and zoning matters.
I have always found Jack to be prepared, knowledgeable and a zealous advocate for his clients, both criminal and civil. I have never hesitated to refer clients to Jack.
The Kosciusko Circuit Court’s caseload consists of a mixture of civil and civil cases, and a broad background in both areas is important to prepare one to act as an effective judge. Experience and breadth of knowledge are the best indicators of who is the most qualified candidate to serve as Kosciusko Circuit Court judge. I have practiced before many judges in my career and he has demonstrated the experience and, most importantly, the temperament to become an excellent Kosciusko Circuit Court judge.
The purpose of this letter is to help inform those who do not know him of what to expect when they decide who to vote for in the May 7 primary next week.
