Editor, Times-Union:
Dear editor and voters of Winona Lake Wayne 1,
I am the current Wayne 1 Precinct committeeman and am running for re-election. I am asking for your vote in the May 7th primary election. Following are some qualifications, which I believe are important in your decision-making process.
Since 1969 my husband Terry Howie and I have lived in Winona Lake. I completed my bachelor degree at Grace College. I have been a life-long Republican, advocating strong conservative principles. I have worked the election polls at every election since the late 1980s, becoming familiar with the Intricacies of the electoral system and the changes over the years. I was precinct committeeman in another Winona Lake precinct for 12 years, when no one was willing to take the position. I have been the precinct committeeman for Wayne 1 for about 14 years. I have helped secure poll workers for many precincts throughout Kosciusko County and have worked actively with the Election Board as well as the clerk’s office. I have made a point of knowing the various town, county, state, and federal candidates personally in order to be knowledgeable in any caucus vote. I was an officer for the Kosciusko Republican Central Committee and have continued to be strongly involved with the Republican Party on both the local and state level. I have been a delegate at many State Conventions as well as having participated in Indiana’s Congress of Counties.
Over the years, I have facilitated obtaining absentee ballot requests and registering many voters in Winona Lake, all part of the job of precinct committeeman.
Based on the above qualifications which may be verified facts at either the state or county level, and my strong desire to continue to serve the people of Winona Lake, I ask that you vote for me in the upcoming election by absentee, in person early voting or directly on Election Day.
Thank you in advance for your vote!
Regards,
Lynn S. Howie
