FOUNTAIN CITY – Sally E. Heighway, age 86, of Fountain City, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Reid Health.
Sally was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Plymouth, to C. Russell and Geneva Baer Shively. She was an office manager for General Surgeons Inc. for over 25 years. Sally enjoyed reading, time with family, tending her flower beds in the sunshine, her work for The Auxiliary of the Gideons International and collecting angels.
Survivors include her children: Debra Heighway, Douglas (Kimberly) Heighway, David (Hila) Heighway, and Daniel (Karen) Heighway; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Larry) McPherron; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Heighway; parents; siblings: Dale Shively, Joe Shively and Eleanor Deaton.
Visitation for Sally E. Heighway will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at LifeSpring Church North, 5600 N. U.S. 27, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at LifeSpring Church North with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
