George P. Ruckman, of Winona Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in his home at the age of 77.
He was born on March 18, 1947, in Dearborn, Mich., to his loving parents George and Francis Ruckman. George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and successful entrepreneur.
Throughout his life, George was known for his prideful nature, generosity and love for those around him. He proudly served his country as a 20-year retired veteran in the United States Army with five tours in Vietnam. After his military service, George went on to achieve great success in the real estate business, owning over 100 units and establishing himself as a respected figure in the industry.
Beyond his professional life, George found joy in spending time with his family and indulging in his hobbies of fishing and chess. He was a dedicated family man who cherished moments spent with his loved ones.
George is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Ruckman; children: George (Tracey) Ruckman, Toby (Kim) Ruckman and Frances Trolinger; stepson, Tuan Tran (Jenny Nguyen); grandchildren: George, Alex, Chloee, Christopher, Allyson, Samantha, Allyssa, Andrew, Justin and Anh thu; and great-grandchild, Blair. He is also survived by his brother Robert Ruckman, as well as many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw is entrusted with the care of George and his family. Friends and family may gather for visitation there, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, on Friday, April 26 from 5 until 7 p.m. George will be laid to rest in Marion National Cemetery.
