If you’ve stopped in the Warsaw Walmart over the past few days, you may have seen a display near the checkout lanes for “Warsaw Opoly.”
A spokesperson for the store said they first got the board game on Thursday and as of Sunday afternoon, there were just over 100 left. Selling for $19.98 plus tax, he stated they’re “flying off the shelves.”
They are “limited availability.”
Other cities like Fort Wayne and South Bend have had their own versions of the game.
Some of the properties on the game include Downtown Warsaw; Pike, Center and Hidden lakes; Kosciusko County Courthouse and the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. Warsaw Community Schools’ 1 Tiger Lane, high school and both middle schools also are on the board.
Tokens include a high five, big smile, heart, the dog, pretzel and gym shoe.
Instead of “Go to Jail,” there’s an “Exit to Traffic Jam” and instead of “Free Parking,” there’s “I (Heart) Warsaw.”
The back of the board game’s box says, “How do you make a game about the great city of Warsaw? While it’s impossible to include everything, we jammed all the Warsaw we could into this box. It’s full of outdoor adventures, family attractions, and rich traditions - a little something for everyone!”
The Warsaw Opoly board game is by Late For The Sky out of Cincinnati, Ohio (www.lateforthesky.com).
According to Late For The Sky’s website, “We take a collection of your ideas and images and develop them into a custom game just like the examples you see on this site. It looks familiar but this time it’s personal. Each version is created from information that is entirely about your company, your community, your group. It’s guaranteed to hold your audience and have them pour over every detail. You promote you. We are there from ‘start.’ You control the content that goes into every element. Our team of creatives uses your content to make a completely custom game. Everything item can be unique from the packaging to the metal tokens.”
