Mock Crash At Whitko Tuesday

SOUTH WHITLEY – A multi-vehicle fatal car crash scene will be staged outside Whitko Junior Senior High School Tuesday, April 23.
This is a mock accident, but on prom night, this scenario could be a reality, according to a news release from Whitko Community School Corp.
Whitko’s high school students will be reminded of the dangers of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding and being distracted while driving by local law enforcement, firefighters, ambulance crews and other first responders. The students will see wrecked vehicles and “injured” drivers and passengers.
Motor vehicle accidents remain the leading cause of death for teenagers, according to the Center Disease Control, and Whitko doesn’t want any students to become a statistic.
Parents are encouraged to remind their teens to drive safely on prom night and every time they get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
