Warsaw Library’s Renovation Committee To Meet With City Officials This Week

Warsaw Community Public Library’s renovation committee will meet with city officials this week regarding a possible new location for the library.
WCPL’s Board of Trustees approved the formation of a renovation exploration committee during their March meeting. During its meeting Monday, Board and Renovation Committee member Tim Keyes said the committee and WCPL Facilities Director Jim Price will meet with Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose and City Planner Justin Taylor to discuss the possible relocation.
Keyes said the committee hasn’t made a lot of decisions yet because they were waiting to meet with city representatives.
WCPL Director Heather Barron said she and Business Manager Renee Sweeny met with Baker Tilly to get initial bond questions answered. They will meet with Ice Miller later this week regarding bond counsel.
In other business, the board approved rescheduling the library’s staff redevelopment day from Thursday to May 30. The library was initially going to be closed on Thursday due to this training, but will now be open under normal operating hours.
The board also:
• Learned Barron will be presenting in front of the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board today about the development of a story walk trail.
• Learned WCPL received 367 phone calls on April 8, the day of the eclipse, about the availability of eclipse glasses.
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. May 13.
