By Staff Report

The city of Warsaw Public Works Department, along with Borden Waste Away Services/Integra and Waste Management are offering expanded services to the residents of the city in celebration of Earth Week, according to a provided news release.
The following services will be made available to residents Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26:
• Loose Leaf Pickup: Large piles of leaves can be raked to the curb or alley. They will be picked up on your regular trash day and need to be out by 7 a.m. Do not put sticks or other trash in the leaf piles. Small piles will need to be bagged or boxed and will be picked up on your regular trash day. As a reminder, leaves cannot be raked into the streets and gutter lines. This clogs the storm water catch basins and creates drainage issues that can lead to flooding.
• Waste Management has offered to place four 30-yard containers at their local transfer station. Residents (IDs will be checked to verify addresses) can drop off items (not truck loads from rental property clean outs) at no charge. Waste Management will donate the dumping fees and is excited to offer residents assistance in disposing of their spring cleaning items. This service will be free of charge to the residents residing within the corporate city limits of Warsaw. Waste Management’s transfer station is at 2352 N. Boeing Road, Warsaw. Their hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Borden Waste Away/Integra Shredding will host a community shred drive day. This will be a “drive-through” service. Integra will have shred truck at the Public Works Department, 794 W. Center St., on Tuesday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. City employees will load your papers in totes and Integra will shred the documents on the spot.
• Paper Lawn and Leaf Bags: Paper lawn and leaf bags will be available for city residents to pick up at the Public Works Department, 794 W. Center St. Residents (IDs will be checked to verify addresses) are invited to pick up six bundles of paper lawn and leaf bags to use for your natural debris pickup for 2024. Hours for distribution will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Natural Debris Give-Away: Wood chips, ground leaves and ground yard waste giveaway will begin Monday, April 22. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27, or until debris is depleted. The public is invited to bring trailers, dump trucks, pickup trucks, and/or small containers to West Center Street just inside Boggs Industrial Park. City employees will load the items. All items are grindings from earlier this year.
