By Staff Report

Stillwater Hospice announced the second annual Water Lily Women’s Luncheon will be held May 1 at the Mirro Conference and Event Center in Fort Wayne.
This event is dedicated to women who are caregiving in different stages of life and will serve as an opportunity to raise vital funding for Stillwater’s compassionate services, including hospice and palliative care, plus grief support, for residents of 12 counties in northeast Indiana, according to a news release from Stillwater Hospice.
“As women, we understand caregiving stretches beyond our households. As an organization with an employee base comprised primarily of women, we want to celebrate the important role women play as caregivers both in our homes and workplace,” said Stillwater Hospice CEO Leslie Friedel.
The event will begin at Mirro Event and Conference Center with doors opening at 11 a.m. and the program beginning at 11:45 a.m., including a luncheon during which attendees will hear stories of caregiving and how Stillwater Hospice can assist families in times of serious illness. The water lily is a symbol of the care Stillwater provides, as the water lily can only grow in still water. Families tell of how the chaos of life-limiting illness is calmed once Stillwater’s trained team of experts begins providing care, the release states.
