This May 7th, Kosciusko County primary voters will have the opportunity to select their primary candidates for various national, state and local offices. One of those contests that will have a considerable impact on Kosciusko County residents will be the selection of the Republican candidate for County Commissioner.
The County Commissioners are considered to be the Executive Branch of the county government and are charged with making the major policy decisions affecting the county, as well as coordinating and overseeing the workings of all of the other county offices. Those important responsibilities require that the person chosen to run for the Commissioner’s position in the general election be the most dedicated, capable and experienced candidate.
There are presently three individuals seeking to be the Republican candidate, one of whom is Sue Ann Mitchell, a current member of the Kosciusko County Council. Sue Ann’ past experience serving in county government and, thereby, her considerable knowledge of its day to day operation is unparalleled.
The years of dedicated service provided by Sue Ann Mitchell to the citizens of Kosciusko County read as follows:
Elected Tippecanoe Township Assessor: 1-1-193 - 12-31-1986 (4 years); Reelected Tippecanoe Township Assessor: 1-1-197 - 12-31-1190 (4 years); Reelected Tippecanoe Township Assessor: 1-1-91 - 12-31-1994 (4 years); Elected Kosciusko County Assessor: 1-1-95 - 12-31-98 (4 years); Y2K Coordinator for Kosciusko County: 1-1-99 - 12-31-99 (1 year); Elected Kosciusko County Auditor: 1-1-2000 - 12-31-2003 (4 years); Reelected Kosciusko County Auditor: 1-1-2004 - 12-31-2007 (4 years); Elected Kosciusko County Treasurer: 1-1-2009 - 12-31-2012 (4 years); Reelected Kosciusko County Treasurer: 1-1-2013 - 12-31-2016 (4 years); Elected Kosciusko County Council (At Large): 1-1-2017 - 12-31-2020 (4 years); Reelected Kosciusko County Council (At Large): 1-1-2021 - 12-31-2024 (4 years)
Sue Ann Mitchell has been chosen by the citizens of Kosciusko County to hold 5 major government offices in both her township and in the county over a period of 41 years, having been re-elected to those offices by a majority of voters 5 times. That is an extraordinary record of service to the residents of Kosciusko County, but also a testament to Sue Ann’s years of hard work and dedication to insure that local government functions are performed efficiently, correctly and for the general good and overall benefit of the citizens of our county. The community’s faith in her judgment and work ethic has been evidenced by her repeated reelections.
Sue Ann is now seeking to be the next County Commissioner for the Northern District of Kosciusko County. She is the real deal. Her focus is on what is good for Kosciusko County and what is good for you, the citizens of Kosciusko County. Based on this record of service, her record of service, I would ask that you support Sue Ann Mitchell for County Commissioner with your vote on April 7, 2024. Allow her to continue this journey of service.
