Two Suffer Injuries In U.S. 30 Crash

Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a crash on U.S. 30 Monday after a driver allegedly failed to yield at an intersection.
According to information provided by Indiana State Police, troopers responded to a crash at the intersection of CR 700W and U.S. 30 at approximately 1:43 p.m. Monday.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Tim Carpenter indicates that a white 2006 Dodge Ram was southbound on CR 700W when it failed to yield and pulled into the path of a white 2020 Toyota Corolla that was eastbound on U.S. 30.
The driver of the Ram, Virgil Slabaugh, 28, of Warsaw, was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Corolla, Jason Litchfield, 34, of Royal Oak, Mich., and a front-seat passenger were taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the ISP.
The passenger was not identified. No further information was available as of press time Monday evening.
