Libertarian Confirms Candidacy For U.S. House

GOSHEN –  William Henry for Congress confirmed his candidacy Monday for Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District following the Libertarian Party of Indiana’s Convention last month.
William E. Henry advances to the general election ballot scheduled for Nov. 5.
As a seasoned public relations professional, military veteran and community advocate, Henry brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to positive change to the political arena, according to a news release from the committee.
A resident of Goshen, Henry serves as the treasurer for the Libertarian Party of Elkhart County. A father of three, with another child on the way in May, he is invested in the well-being of his community and the future it holds for his family and fellow citizens, the release states.
Henry's political journey began with a run for Indiana lieutenant governor in 2020 alongside Donald Rainwater. Subsequently, he contested the U.S. House of Representatives seat for the 2nd Congressional District in 2022. In four years, Henry has campaigned and traveled the district and state meeting and speaking with voters and debating his stances publicly. Henry has showcased his overall knowledge and dedication to bettering government and public service, according to the release.
A distinguished military veteran, Henry served in the U.S. Army and the Indiana Army National Guard from 2005-2015, earning accolades such as the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious journalism work while deployed in Afghanistan. His contributions to the military community extend beyond his service with involvement in legislative and executive advocacy, and working with statewide veteran organizations, commissions and committees.
Currently, Henry helped found and serves as co-director of Liberty Offense, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing issues within all branches of government and media. Through strategic partnerships with individuals, agencies and organizations, Liberty Offense has coordinated public and community action events.
