Meet Local Children’s Book Author Kathryn A. Zolman

Local children’s book author Kathryn A. Zolman will be signing books at The Word House, 25 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4.
A Warsaw native, Zolman never expected to write a children’s book, but when she first encountered Pineapple and heard the story of how this sweet, Bullmastiff-Chow-Shepherd mix got her name, she thought it would make a fun book for parents to read to their children, according to a provided news release.
Zolman, a dog lover, was inspired to write the true story after hearing the silly tale from Pineapple’s owner, Kevin.
“It was such a fun, heartwarming story to tell,” said Zolman. “Kevin loved the idea of immortalizing the story and letting kids learn about Pineapple.”
In addition to entertaining children, Zolman, hopes “Are You A Pineapple?” will help children learn to respect animals and appreciate the joy they bring.
