According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office crash report, at about 12:51 a.m. Friday, Tasha Livinghouse-Alexander, 48, Plymouth, was traveling east on Main Street in a silver 2010 Mitsubishi Galant while entering the town of Atwood.
While on a curve, the Galant left the roadway and into the grass. The report states the vehicle had failed to follow the curved road properly and exited the road as if going straight.
The Galant then sideswiped a tree and then hit a second tree, snapping the second tree in half. After hitting the second tree, the Galant then overturned and came to a rest upside down.
When the investigating officer arrived to the scene, Livinghouse-Alexander was laying outside of the vehicle crying. She appeared to have substantial injuries to her face, including cuts and swelling in the area of the jaw. She could not pinpoint a certain location that she was suffering pain from other than it was her whole body, the report states. She was taken to a South Bend hospital.
The report also states that it was “discovered during the investigation” that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The KCSO did conduct an investigation in reference to the operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
A speed limit owned by the Kosciusko County Highway Department also was damaged during the crash.
The total of damages from the crash was at least $10,000 to $25,000.
