Nappanee Woman, Child Injured In One-Vehicle Accident

A Nappanee woman and a 9-year-old boy were seriously injured after being ejected from a vehicle that left the road for an unknown reason.
Shortly after 6 p.m. today, Kosciusko County emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of CRs 1000N and 450E, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. When first responders arrived to the scene, they found a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer off the south side of the road, just west of CR 450E.
They found Alisha Rowe, 38, Nappanee, who had been ejected from the vehicle, as well as a 9-year-old boy. The news release did not release the boy’s identity.
Rowe was flown from the scene to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. The boy was taken by EMS to Lutheran Hospital. Both individuals were suffering from internal injuries, the release states.
The Trailblazer had been traveling west on CR 1000N, approaching CR 450E, when it left the north side of the road for an unknown reason and traveled through a field. The Trailblazer then went across CR 450E and continued through a field. It rolled several times and came to a rest off the south side of CR 1000N.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team, Syracuse Police Department, Syracuse Fire and EMS Department, MedFlight Air Ambulance and the Kosciusko County Highway Department.
