Football
Northridge at Wawasee
Wawasee battled hard for all four quarters on Friday night, just barely coming up short in a 14-7 home loss to Northridge. The Warriors are now 1-5 this season, 1-3 in the Northern Lakes Conference.
Donovan Blair and Derek Bontrager both had big nights receiving, ending the game with 39 and 38 yards respectively. Blair also had a big game on defense, getting two sacks. Hunter Tinkey had 24 yards rushing while Payton Sewell added 21.
Wawasee is on the road Friday night at Warsaw.
Manchester at Southwood
In what was another defensive battle on Friday night, Manchester was unable to come away with a victory against Southwood, falling 8-7 on the road, The Squires are now 2-4 this season, 2-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Logan Eastgate threw for 112 yards and a touchdown on just four completions. Reiss Garete continued to rack up the yardage for the Squires, picking up 45 rushing and 73 receiving, both team highs. Gaerte also hauled in the team’s lone score. Preston Duffy added 31 rushing yards.
Manchester takes on Whitko in South Whitley Friday night.
Whitko at Lewis Cass
Whitko dropped its fifth game in a row Friday night, falling 52-6 on the road to Lewis Cass. The Wildcats are now 1-5, 0-4 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Quarterback Jack Hill threw for 72 yards and a touchdown to Riley Harman, who hauled in two passes for 69 yards. Trevor Freel had 57 rushing yards.
Whitko hosts Manchester in a local showdown this week.
Triton at Pioneer
Triton picked up its second win in a row Friday night, defeating Pioneer 27-16 on the road. The Trojans are now 4-2 this season, 3-1 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
Cole Shively had a massive day under center, throwing for 77 yards and a score while running for 162 and contributing two more touchdowns. Jayden Overmyer also went over 100 total yards, picking up 80 rushing and 22 receiving. Javan May had 42 receiving yards.
The Trojans take on North Judson at home this week.
Volleyball
Warsaw/Tippecanoe Valley at Warsaw Invitational
Warsaw had a fine showing at their home invite on Saturday, going 3-1 on the day. Tippecanoe Valley also competed in the tournament, going 0-2. The Lady Tigers are now 19-8, while the Lady Vikings fall to 15-10.
Warsaw earned wins over Fort Wayne Northrop, Rochester and LaPorte before falling to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger. Against Northrop, Cece Goode led the team in kills with seven. Goode and Ellie Hepler each had five aces in the contest against Rochester. Hepler had 19 digs against LaPorte while Avery Hoeppner had 24 assists.
Warsaw takes on NorthWood on the road Thursday night while Valley plays at Knox on Monday night.
Boys Soccer
Warsaw at Wawasee
After a tough loss to Goshen on Thursday, Warsaw got back into the win column in a big way, defeating Wawasee 4-0 on Saturday. The Tigers are now 12-2-1 this season, 4-2 in the Northern Lakes Conference, while the Warriors are now 3-8-1.
Warsaw scored two goals in each half on their way to victory. The Tigers are back in action Thursday at Northridge, while Wawasee hosts the Raiders on Tuesday.

Warsaw earned another big win on its quest for a Northern Lakes Conference title, defeating Wawasee 8-0 in its penultimate conference match. The Lady Tigers are now 8-2-4 this fall, 5-0-1 in the NLC. Wawasee falls to 1-11-2, 0-4-1.
Lizette Martinez had a hat trick, with Lola Pepper, Haley Rodewald and Sophia Johnston adding scores as well.
Wawasee plays its next game Tuesday at Mishawaka. Warsaw will host Mishawaka. The Lady Tigers will play at Carroll Tuesday night before hosting Northridge on Thursday for the conference championship.
